Language Quality Assurance

Logrus provides QA services for all types of translated or localized materials, such as:

The Logrus Quality Assurance service (LQA) applies to the whole set of languages into which the client localizes various products plus an option of quick and independent solution development for new languages.
 
In all QA projects we resort to the services of trustworthy companies only and never use freelancers. Since the localization world is small, especially in the developing countries, we have several backups for each language to guarantee that one and the same vendor does not do the translation and QA of the same project.
 
The Logrus QA service provides flexibility in handling small tasks at short notice. We ensure a fast turnaround time, keeping to agreed productivity, efficient project management and scalability which are sufficient to deal with high volumes of requests or unexpected peaks in service with minimal support or communication.
 
The main purpose of LQA is to review the target materials for the correctness of the translation and to ensure consistency within one product or with other related products.

LQA is not a proofreading; it is a service used as a tool to assure adequate quality of the translation provided.

Upon receiving translated materials from a localization vendor, a client sends them to a separate LQA vendor — an independent language quality verification service provider.
 
During the LQA process, the reviewer comments on errors and categorizes them without changing or editing the target document. The LQA process is therefore designed to help content owners control their translation providers and quality of their services which is important both for human and machine-oriented translation processes.
 
To reduce the amount of effort and save time and money, LQA is usually performed on selected samples representing only a part of the translation. The size of the sample is usually 100% of the User Interface (in other words, everything the user may see) and 10% of User Assistance.
 
The LQA team provides a report on language quality and gives recommendations. With the LQA results, the content owner can ask the vendor to fix errors (if any) in case of PASS, or request additional proofreading in case of NO PASS.
All errors are categorized according to the following Quality Criteria:
  • Accuracy: The source text is translated accurately: the functionality of the localized product is properly reflected. Deletions and additions are made only due to differences in localized products. Correct cross-references.
  • Terminology: Adherence to client glossaries, consistency (within and between parts of the product), use of appropriate terms.
  • Language Quality: Grammar and syntax rules and standards of the target language are complied with. Correct spelling and punctuation. Absence of typos.
  • Style: Adherence to the Client's Translation Style Guide (if applicable) for the particular language.
  • Country Standards: Adaptation of cultural references, such as changes of source scenarios and changes from the source date/time/currency system to the metric system.
The Logrus QA service is rendered through a user-friendly web interface where the status of each job can be tracked without any omissions of tasks or procedures involved.
 
You can place a new order through this system. The notification about the new project will be automatically sent to our company’s representative.
 
With this form, you can provide us with all  the necessary information about your project, such as product info, start date and deadlines, target languages and number of hours allocated for review. The total project cost will be automatically calculated based on the agreed price.
 
The LQA service is a competitive and transparently priced solution. If your QA criteria are different from those currently implemented, there is a small set-up fee to adjust our service to your needs, carry out system-wide training etc. Once the order is placed, LQA calculates the cost of QA automatically according to the volume of QA work and rates. The QA cost calculation formula itself is negotiable and can be customized while the terms and conditions of the order are being agreed upon.
 
The LQA services are delivered by a special management and support team that knows the art and the exact science of quality assurance, as well as the depths of .NET portal programming.
 
We are able to provide training and support for all language reviewers in compliance with the standards set by the client and prepare reviews and feedback in client-approved format. The LQA team can meet any special language or QA requirements of the particular divisions of the client company’s product units. The client can be provided with an organization and workflow chart prior to the execution of the order to identify changes and adjust the service to specific needs.
